The shop is taking measures to ensure enhanced hygiene standards. It’s still business as usual due to the small numbers of people that occupy the shop at any given time.

Members Shop Vouchers

We’re pleased to announce that the deadline for using your vouchers has been extended by one month to Thursday, 30 April 2020. Please remember to call in to check your balance and discuss what you would like to use your vouchers for.

Davin celebrated his birthday on Tuesday 17th March - he may be Australian, but his best bits must be Irish that birthday date. We hope everyone could celebrate St Paddy’s from home - at least the golf course is particularly green this year in St Pat’s honour.

The Race to Woburn

After the dust settles on the drama of TWO holes in one at Woburn in October’s end of series match between England and the Rest of the World, Race to Woburn is back. There are some important new improvements to the format and points system which can be read at www.racetowoburn.com.

These improvements are designed to encourage more members to participate in what has become one of the most competitive and enjoyable events for members.

Summer Knockouts

The Summer Knockout competition deadline is fast approaching. Remember to sign-up before Monday 23rd March.

If you’re considering a new driver, it’s usually because you’re either missing too many fairways or your current one isn’t going as far as you’d like. You’re certainly not alone if you fit into this bracket, so why not join many other golfers by coming down to Finchley Golf Club and booking in for a driver fitting with one of the team?

The perfect scenario

This illustration is ideal for the majority of us: a new driver that goes further and with a tighter dispersion than our current one.

However, with so many options available, it’s often a tricky puzzle of which shaft, loft and head combination performs best in YOUR hands that needs solving.

Luckily, this is an area that we are professionally trained in! We have plenty of options in-store for you to try, including the awesome Mizuno ST200 driver that should be at the top of your list.

Sociable sessions

Playing golf with your friends is one of the best things about this sport but, if you’re tired of playing long strokeplay rounds in your fourball, why not try some of the fun formats below the next time you find yourself going out in a four?

4BBB

This game is a lot of fun and sees both team members play their own ball, with the lowest score counting at each hole. In a fourball betterball match, players receive 90% of the difference from the player with the lowest handicap.

Greensomes

Both partners tee off on each hole. You then choose the best drive and play alternate shots for the rest of the hole. Your greensomes handicap should be 60% of the lower partner’s handicap added to 40% of the higher partner’s.

Gruesomes

This is a great way to find out who your true friends are as the format is the same as Greensomes only your opposition decide which drive you play from. Although don't blame us if you all end up falling out over it.
