The Race to Woburn
After the dust settles on the drama of TWO holes in one at Woburn in October’s end of series match between England and the Rest of the World, Race to Woburn is back. There are some important new improvements to the format and points system which can be read at www.racetowoburn.com.
These improvements are designed to encourage more members to participate in what has become one of the most competitive and enjoyable events for members.
The art of putting
‘Drive for show, putt for dough’. No doubt you have heard this one a few times before but considering putting equates to between 30 to 50% of our shots on the course, it also has a large element of truth in it.
Odyssey Stroke Lab Triple Track putters
There's some clever technology out there to help you putt better. For example, Odyssey has taken the Triple Track Alignment from the ERC Soft golf ball and combined it with their Stroke Lab shaft to create this stunning range of putters.
If you're someone who struggles to line up correctly on the greens, come and try Odyssey's Triple Track putters at Finchley Golf Club. Better putting might just be around the corner.
If you're considering buying new irons this year, have a think about how they are going to blend into the rest of your set. The idea is to have equal yardage gaps between each club in your bag so, if you are going to treat yourself, it might be worth replacing a long iron with a hybrid that is easier to hit.
Take danger out of play
The illustration here is a good example of where a hybrid comes in handy. When our driver brings danger into play and a long-iron leaves us too far to the green, a hybrid is the perfect option.
One hybrid that we particularly like is the PING G410. Its thinner and more flexible face generates good ball speed and a nice high launch. Call us on 020 8371 1969 if you fancy trying it out.
Lots of drivers have been launched already this year but there's one model that has really taken us by surprise! If you're in the market for a new toy in 2020, we couldn't recommend Mizuno's ST200G highly enough and here's why…
We hope you enjoyed our newsletter. If you need any more help or advice please pop into the shop and speak to one of the team. We'll be delighted to help.
